My Favourite Vintage Glam Looks

Fave Vintage Glamour Looks

Hey guys!

So today I'm going to do a post mostly for my own fun and enjoyment, I'm going to show you some of my favourite vintage/glam or vintage inspired looks whether that be hair or make-up! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do, vintage is something I absolutely love! I love retro too, like 1980's hair and fashion but I'll probably do another post on that. For now I'm going to show you my favourite vintage looks from the 1940's through to the 1960's! I think I'll start with the make-up as my favourites are fairly similar through these decades, then move onto my favourite hairstyles of these decades. Enjoy!

So throughout these decades, which are my favourite decades by the way (for style and films at least!) my favourite looks are fairly similar. I LOVE LOVE LOVE red lips and the red lipstick glamorous look that a lot of the Hollywood stars would wear! I've selected a few images that I found on Pinterest to show you which looks I loved!

1940's: So 40's hairstyles were fairly elegant, there were a lot of waves in the hair, all selectively placed to give this gorgeous glamorous look! I love it so much, I especially love when they recreated this style for Hayley Atwell when she played Agent Carter in 'Captain America the First Avenger' and on the Agent Carter series!

1950's: So the 50's, I adore the 1950's style so much, if I had the money to completely restyle my wardrobe to be 50's inspired I would! I also love the hairstyles they had in the 50's, the pin curls gave the stars so much volume. I also love Audrey Hepburn's vintage styled pixie crop haircut, she had this during the film Sabrina, this is quite possible my favourite look that Audrey ever had!

1960's: The 60's was the time for big and messy hair! From Audrey Hepburn's beehive in Breakfast at Tiffany's, to Marilyn Monroe's big blowout hairdo, to Brigitte Bardot's effortless looking volumised bedhead look. I actually wish my hair was long enough to do Brigitte Bardot's textured hairstyle because it'd be so casual looking and not too retro looking to be able to wear everyday if I wanted to!

So there are my favourite vintage glamour looks, from the 1940's through to the 1960's. Which one was your favourite and would you ever try any of these looks? Let me know in the comment section! I really enjoyed this post, I'm hoping to do some more posts like this, possibly my favourite vintage fashion looks or vintage inspired outfits so if you're interested in those stay tuned. 1. Those are some of the best vintage glam looks. I loved this post. I hope you do some more from other eras.

    1. I might do my favourite 80's looks but other than that I don't know what other eras to do, if you have any suggestions please let me know!

  2. I've always loved this look. I would love if I could pull off that nice wave those women wore. It looks so classic.

    1. My hair's only just long enough to do pin curls but I don't think I could pull them off, I really wish I could!
